Southern-California native Gary Meek is considered by many as one of the finest jazz saxophonist on the West Coast. He has toured and recorded for over twenty years with Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. He’s also collaborated with artists such as Jeff Lorber, Brian Bromberg, Dave Weckl and many others. Meek has appeared on over 200 recordings and is celebrating last year’s release of Originals, a record of his own compositions. His Quintet on this date features Akili Bradley on trumpet and flugelhorn, Eddie Mendenhall on piano, Dan Robbins on bass, and Skylar Campbell on drums.
