CLUB de libros en español MON 6:30-7:30 pm

Club de Libros en Español- The Club de Libros en Español meets once a week on Mondays, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Palenke Arts, where we provide a welcoming space for members to discuss a selected book in Spanish. Participants engage in lively conversations, sharing insights and perspectives while enjoying a multicultural and multigenerational experience of exploring Spanish-language literature together. Currently, we are reading La Ley del Amor by Laura Esquivel. 

Facilitator: Jocelyne Reséndiz

Jocelyne Reséndiz Nieto (She/Her/Ella) has lived in Seaside for the past 25 years after immigrating from Guanajuato, Mexico. Growing up, her family was deeply rooted in their culture, and Jocelyne was part of different dance groups in Monterey County. She came to Palenke with a vast artistic background including violin, Mariachi, Ballet folklorico, and Aztec dance. Jocelyne is also an avid reader, and is currently running Palenke's Club de Libros en Español.
