Our Visual Art classes are taught by two wonderful professionals: Jess Ansberry and Paul Richmond. Our approach is to learn how to explore our creativity, learn new techniques, gain cultural perspective and have FUN!

Paul Richmond is an internationally recognized visual artist and activist whose career has included exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States as well as publication in numerous art journals and anthologies. His work is collected by individuals around the globe. As an illustrator, has created over four hundred novel cover illustrations. He is a co-founder of the You Will Rise Project, an organization that empowers those who have experienced bullying to speak out creatively through art. He is Executive Director of Art Makes Us, a virtual creative space dedicated to providing opportunities for each individual to discover and nurture the artist within. Paul lives with his husband Dennis in Monterey, California. He is represented by Muse Art Services.

Jessica Ansberry is a visual artist specializing in acrylic and watercolor painting, hand lettering, illustrating and art installations. She is the owner of Progress not Perfection Paint Parties.  Jessica recently teamed up with fellow creatives Nile Estep and Chris Powers to launch local art and business collective "The Shop Monterey." Jess loves to create art everyday, collaborate and help inspire individuals to find and follow their own creative journey. Find Jessica working out of The Shop Monterey, painting at various local venues or holding Virtual Painting Events locally and internationally.
